What We Built

The Event Platform We Wished Existed

We built OpenMeet because we needed a way to bring people together without paying $50/month for the privilege. Here's what you get.

Community gathering

Events

Events That Just Work

Calendar Invites

When someone RSVPs, they get an .ics file. It shows up in their Google Calendar, Outlook, whatever they use. No "add to calendar" button that half-works.

Recurring Events

Weekly book club? Monthly hiking group? Set it once. We handle timezone math and daylight saving so 7pm stays 7pm.

Quick RSVP

One click. Calendar invite sent immediately. Guests don't need an account to RSVP.

Private & Unlisted

Public for discovery. Unlisted for invite links. Private for members only. You decide who sees what.

Groups

No Limits, No Tiers

Unlimited Everything

Create as many groups and events as you need. There's no "upgrade to Pro" wall.

Organizer Dashboard

All your events and groups in one place. RSVPs, members, the basics. Nothing fancy, but it works.

Link Previews

Share an event on Bluesky or Discord and it looks right—title, image, description. We added OpenGraph tags so you don't have to think about it.

Identity

Your Identity, Your Choice

AT Protocol

Log in with your Bluesky handle or any AT Protocol identity. Decentralized—your account exists on the network, not just on OpenMeet.

Google & GitHub

Standard OAuth if that's easier. One click, no new password to forget.

Email Code

We send a 6-digit code. Type it in. Done. No password system to get hacked.

Trust

Open Source. No Ads. No Data Sales.

Code on GitHub

API, frontend, mobile app. See how it works, fork it, run your own instance if you want.

No Marketing Tracking

We monitor for site improvement only. No retargeting pixels. No selling data to advertisers.

Try it out

Create an event. See if it works for you. No credit card, no trial that expires.
